"DISCLAIMER: This show contains adult language and subject matter. We ask that you practice personal and parental discretion before entering our space. Thank you. Process Art House is excited to close our 2015 Spring Season with a highly eclectic conceptual show from emerging artist Christopher Rigel. Rigel (as he likes to be known) has developed a unique body of works utilizing images and objects that are familiar to us and found in our everyday surroundings. He's re-purposing these elements into works that reflect his unique view of the world as it is.Think of it like a walk through the artist's mind. His use of materials is not the only thing that makes his work stand out as different. His subject matter is a combination of pop art and a mode of art making often referred to as "kitsch", which is not a condescending term, rather a reference to the use of non-traditional subject matters in the art itself. Images from pop culture, music, and other recognizable subjects appear in the works which can appeal to a wider audience. These two styles are unique and compelling on their own, but stand out even more when combined into something new. Rigel has generated a complex exhibition that will challenge your ears, your eyes, and your mind. This is Rigel's first solo show at Process Art House and the the largest exhibition of his work to date. We are always impressed when an artist pushes the envelope by challenging what art is, what it says, and what it can be made from. This show - will show you why."-taken from events page. used only for promotional purposes.
